Rob Anderson seeks
to convey the soul of his subjects through his art. His drawings
and paintings are often perceived as both provocative and contemplative
to the viewer.
Most recently,
he has exhibited at the Pergamon Museum in Berlin and at Yale University.
His art is in the collections of the Fine Art Museums' Achenbach Foundation,
and the Public Library's Gay and Lesbian History Archives in San Francisco.
Anderson's
exhibitions, both in the United States and internationally, have earned
him numerous commissions, and his selected awards include grants from
The San Francisco Arts Commission, The Visual Aid Foundation, and the
Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation.
He
has been profiled in Time Magazine, Vogue, Der Spiegel, and all of the
major news media, most recently on CNN's The Point.
He
currently teaches figure drawing at the Atelier School of Classical Realism
in Oakland, California.
In
addition to his work on Rattlesnake in a Moving Car, Anderson is
an international spokesperson for HIV as a longtime HIV positive person
enjoying a healthy and productive life.
Through
Rattlesnake in a Moving Car, he hopes to inspire others with life-threatening
diseases to develop their own tools and strategies to cope and thrive.
